Paros is an island with more beaches than you can visit on just one vacation. You probably know the most famous already. Therefore, we will present to you the closest beaches to our accommodations, situated in Parikia. Most of them are on the top of a list with beaches to visit on Paros Island.
Livadia is considered as the main beach of Parikia, the capital of Paros Island. It is actually divided into two parts. The first and smaller part is close to town and the second part is a little bit further. Right in between, there is a spot with trees where you can enjoy lunch or dinner right on the sand.
The beach is well organized with sunbeds and umbrellas. There are beach bars from which you can rent them and order a snack or refreshment. Livadia consists of sand and it offers an amazing view of the sunset. Because of the fact that it is located in Parikia Bay, it rarely has big waves. This is suitable for visitors with small children.
You will find it 1,5 km away from our Paros Pension Anna Spanou; 1,5 km away from our Marble Villas as well as 1,5 km away from our House in Castle.
Martselo is one of the most famous beaches on Paros Island. Just like Livadia, Martselo Beach is located in Parikia Bay. It is well organized and you can relax on sunbeds under an umbrella. There is a beach bar that serves visitors of the beach. Martselo consists of fine sand and its water is crystal clear. You will enjoy swimming with Parikia and its port for a view. If you walk further, Martselo beach continues to the unorganized part. You can sit there if you prefer quieter surroundings. There are few trees offering a natural shade, however in order to find a spot, you need to be there early. Be aware of the fact that when a ferry arrives, a larger than usual waves appear on the beach.
Krios is the beach right next to Martselo. They share the same coast line and therefore they offer a similar experience. One can say that Krios is a little bit quieter than Martselo.
Regarding the distances, it is situated 3,5 km away from our Paros Pension Anna Spanou; 4 km away from our Marble Villas and 3,5 km away from our House in Castle. Therefore, you will need means of transport to get there. Of course, there is an option of getting there using a boat from Parikia’s port.
There is a small and less popular beach in the center of Parikia with no specific name. It is not that well organized, it is however a good choice for a quick dive. During days with strong northern winds there could be waves on the beach. Therefore in this time, it is not recommended for families with small children
Regarding the distances, it is situated 700 meters away from our Paros Pension Anna Spanou; 2,5 km away from our Marble Villas and 500 meters away from our House in Castle.
